ZombieLARP Update Things have been rolling along in preparation for the ZombieLARP. I've moved it to a standalone event in September and have received funding from nzLARPS (http://www.nzlarps.org.nz/) for booking the venue. Most of the storyline for the event has been written, and currently I'm working on developing interactive props for it. I'm also planning on running an Alternate Reality / Viral Marketing campaign during August leading up to the event, which will require participants to undertake a variety of 'missions' to collect information and to hack various servers of the fictional biotechnology corporation, EnyoGeni. Well, the Gunblade's finally in the can - now I just need to see when I can get it written in for my character for the LARP campaign I'm currently participating in. I may do the writeup for the Gunblade in the future - I took lots of photos at various stages of development so hopefully there should be enough material to do something decent. Now for my next trick... I've been thinking of running a Zombie LARP in October at Chimera 2010, so I need to get the wheels turning on that little project. Wanna keep it casual; light on storyline and have it heavily combat orientated, with gameplay similar to Left 4 Dead - but with Nerf Guns and foam

LARPing Goodies

Yesterday I took a trip to Bunnings, the local awesome hardware store here in NZ. They had practically everything. Except fiberglass rods. The whole point of my trip was to get stuff to make a gunblade LARP weapon, the core of which is best suited for some really durable material. Anyway, I picked up a bunch of other awesome stuff, such as contact adhesive, hacksaw, sandpaper and claw hammer. I'll be using those later for some Nerf gun mods. I also found a bunch of Solar powered outdoor lights that stake into the ground. They recharge during the day, and switch on at night when it's dark.
